When A Dream Becomes Reality
When our founder Tatjana first met our now local foundation partner Atha, he shared his big dream: to one day open a space where local kids could access free English classes. It is important to understand that in Bali, if just one child in a family learns English and secures a job in the tourism industry, they can often earn enough to support their entire family - breaking the cycle of poverty, reducing reliance on outside help and restoring dignity. So Tatjana, a retired businesswoman, poured her heart into turning that dream into reality!
In May 2025, construction began on what will soon be The Happy Place — a community hub full of opportunity that empowers children in Bali’s Bukit area and helps build a brighter future for them and their families.
None of this would be possible without your generous support! Thank you for believing in our mission and helping us give back to the local community — the same community that so warmly welcomes us and allows us to live on their Island of the Gods, Bali.

Walt Disney once said, "If you can dream it, you can do it!" So, let’s dream big and create a place where learning meets laughter, where education and joy go hand in hand! Here are the four core programs we plan to offer at The Happy Place, all designed to empower the local children of the Bukit area, Bali.

Our free English classes empower local children with skills that open doors to better opportunities, helping break the cycle of poverty and build a brighter future.
Our free art classes give local children a chance to express themselves, boosting confidence and unlocking future opportunities through creativity.
Our free sports activities are a fun and educational way for local children to stay healthy and active, while learning valuable skills like teamwork, discipline and leadership.

Another dream of ours is to provide free nutritious meals for every child who walks through our doors — ensuring they not only learn and play, but also grow up healthy.

Let’s build a space together where local kids can come in the afternoons — after their regular school day — and instead of being parked in front of screens, can learn, play and grow in a safe, supportive environment. With the help of local staff and volunteers, we aim to create a place that bridges the local and expat communities — a space where connection, learning and impact flow both ways, creating meaningful change for everyone involved.
To make this dream a reality, we need your financial support. As always, 100% of your donation will go directly to charity — in this case specifically into the construction and operation of The Happy Place. Our founder is not drawing a salary: her motivation comes solely from the desire to give back and support the local community that has warmly welcomed her here in Bali.
